In 1599 the physician of Felipe IV and lay agent ("familiar") of the Inquisition, Jerónimo de Huerta, publishes his anotated translation of Piny, Natural History. Jeronimo decides to publish the book independently in the early seventeenth century, but finally published in 1624 the first eleven books in one volume. The rest will be published in 1629. Huerta described for example the armadillo and the turkey, wich were illustrated in his book but he did the same for others monsters as wolfman, headless, Pygmies, Pegasus, etc.
